Canadian Firefighters Memorial, February 16, 2014

I took twelve pictures this day. That's not many. It was very cold, otherwise I would have taken more. With a cloudless sky, early in the afternoon, the light made for some decent photographs.

Thanks to a snow fall two days before, the snow is very white.

I think this turned out particularly well, as the light for it came at a perfect angle.

I think some of the oak trees parted their leaves late in the season and hold onto them because the sap froze. The leaves should fall in spring as the new buds push last year's leaves off the tree.

This is the top of one of the short upright metal posts. I still have no idea what they're for.

I like to photograph the lone pine, as it represents wildland firefighters.

The oval in the upper left is not a UFO. It's a lens flare. I'll be looking for a suitable lens hood to deal with that.
